Import flights from a CSV spreadsheet
Lots of people keep their flight history in a spreadsheet: a list of dates and airports built up over years, or a file exported from another app. It's a good record, but rows in a sheet don't show you where you've actually been.
Waymarka is a flight log and travel pin map. Upload your CSV and every flight is drawn as a route on one world map, with stats on the airlines, aircraft and airports you've flown, next to a pin map of the cities you've visited. It runs in your browser on any phone or computer. To be clear: Waymarka is a logbook, not a live flight tracker.
Two ways to bring a spreadsheet in
- Upload CSV: use the spreadsheet you already have. Waymarka reads the file and you confirm which column is which (date, from, to and so on), so your column names don't need to match ours.
- Waymarka template: starting from scratch, or rebuilding history from old emails and boarding passes? Download the blank template and fill it in.
Both are under Add flights once you're signed in.
Option 1: Upload the spreadsheet you already have
- 1. In Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, save or download the sheet as CSV. Comma and semicolon separators both work.
- 2. In Waymarka, open Add flights → Upload CSV and choose the file.
- 3. Match the columns: tell Waymarka which column holds the date, the departure airport and the arrival airport, plus any optional details you have.
- 4. Check the list of flights, then save.
Option 2: Fill in the Waymarka template
- 1. Open Add flights → Use Waymarka template and download the blank template.
- 2. Only three columns are required: date, from and to, using airport codes like LHR or JFK.
- 3. Optional columns: flight number, airline, times, seat, cabin, booking reference and notes. Fill in what you know and leave the rest blank.
- 4. Save as CSV and upload it under Upload completed template.
Tips for a clean import
- Use airport codes. Three-letter codes like YYZ, DXB or FRA match more reliably than city names.
- Dates: day-first and month-first dates are both detected across the whole file, so you don't have to reformat them. Just make sure every row has a real date.
- One flight per row. A return trip is two rows.
- Coming from Flighty or myFlightradar24? Use the dedicated importers instead; they read those exports as they are. See the Flighty guide and the myFlightradar24 guide.
Nothing is saved until you check it
Imported flights show up as a list before anything is saved. Airports are matched for you, and you can fix one that matched the wrong city before saving or edit the flight afterwards. Flights already in your log are flagged as possible duplicates, so you can keep, replace or merge each one. That means you can import an updated spreadsheet again later without doubling up.
What it costs
- Free: your first 10 flights and 10 city pins, no card needed. CSV imports are included; if your file has more flights, the 10 most recent are saved.
- Pro: a paid upgrade that saves your whole spreadsheet and adds unlimited flights and AI boarding-pass reading: $2.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or $49.99 once for Waymarka Life, all in USD plus tax.

Frequently asked questions
Do my column names have to match Waymarka's?
No. With Upload CSV you confirm which of your columns is the date, the departure airport and the arrival airport. If you'd rather not, copy your data into the Waymarka template.
What's the minimum I need for each flight?
A date and the two airports. Flight number, airline, times, seat, cabin, booking reference and notes are optional.
Can I import an Excel file?
Save it as CSV first (File → Save As or Download → CSV in most spreadsheet apps), then upload the CSV.
Will importing the same spreadsheet twice create duplicates?
Flights already in your log are flagged as possible duplicates in the review list, and you choose to keep, replace or merge each one.
Can I get my flights back out as a CSV?
Yes. Settings → Data and privacy → export all your flights as CSV, on any plan.
