A TripIt alternative for past flights and flight history
TripIt is strong at organising upcoming trip itineraries: flights, hotels and plans in one place for the trip you're about to take.
Once those trips are over, a different question shows up: how do I keep a lasting log and map of the flights I've already taken? Waymarka is a flight log and travel pin map for that job. It is not a trip itinerary app, and it is not a live tracker. It doesn't track flights live and doesn't send alerts. Many people keep TripIt for day-of plans and use Waymarka for the long-term record.
TripIt for plans, Waymarka for your flight history
TripIt is built around trip plans. Waymarka is built around a lasting flight log and map: every route you've flown drawn on a world map, city pins for places you've been, and stats that add up over years.
If what you mainly need is today's itinerary, TripIt may still be the better tool. If what you want is a map of every flight you've taken and a place to log past flights, read on.
Does Waymarka import from TripIt?
No. Waymarka does not import from TripIt directly. Here are practical ways to get flights into Waymarka instead:
1. Type them in with the date and two airports (the minimum). 2. [Scan a boarding pass](/scan-boarding-pass) barcode with your camera. The barcode is read in memory, no photo is saved, and you confirm the year. 3. Put flights in a CSV spreadsheet or the Waymarka template, then import under Add flights. 4. If you already use Flighty and your flights are there (Flighty Pro can sync with TripIt), export from Flighty with Settings → Account Data → Export Your Flights, then in Waymarka open Add flights → Import Flighty. 5. OpenFlights can connect to TripIt and import past and future trips. Export an OpenFlights CSV, then import that CSV into Waymarka (you confirm the column matches).
On Free, imports and barcode scans count toward your first 10 flights. If a file has more, Free keeps the 10 most recent; Pro imports the rest.
